We are simply trying to hold space for
people interested in group relations work.

We serve as a home for people who have experienced the power of group relations work, particularly in combination with spirituality and social justice. We want to nurture the GR network by offering a place to co-create as individuals and/or organizations. We are open to collaboration around group relations conferences and application events, writing, reflecting and meeting. We offer to stay connected with “the work” in various ways. We pay attention to where the energy takes us.
The programs we offer at this moment are listed in the activities section. As we are growing in numbers, we are beginning to create local (and virtual) communities that people may join to nurture “the work.”

Director's Training for Group Relations Conferences

From 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Eastern Time

Co-sponsored by:
A.K. Rice Institute for the Study of Social Systems and Group Relations International

FULL Waitlist only
The objective of this training is to be introduced to and/or deepen the learning about taking up the role of conference director in group relations conferences. It is an opportunity to learn about the person in role as conference director and holding a system in mind, the whole, the parts, the staff, and most importantly the members. It is also an opportunity to enhance skills in dealing with the complexity of multiple roles, identities, relatedness and relationships.
The content will include, but will not be limited to, philosophy of directing, staffing, themes, systems, design, budget, administration, collaboration, taking up and holding the role, co-sponsorship, etc.
The design will include a combination of teaching, readings, consultation, observation, interpretation and discussion. Additionally, participants will be asked to work in small groups to plan a conference. Experienced conference directors will be invited as guests. Each participant will have an opportunity to have an individual consultation with an experienced conference director.

The training is offered for fairly new group relations directors and people who aspire to direct conferences in the future. Participants should have attended and have been on staff of one or more group relations conferences.
